The Wigle Farm Edge of Field site is a 48 acre parcel of land that is committed to using conservation practices, including no-till, and uses a full crop rotation that includes corn, soybean, wheat and cover crops. The parcel has three distinct overland swales where weirs have been constructed to collect surface water during extreme rain/snow melt events. Three level loggers have been installed at each weir that will allow for the calculation of the volume of water that leaves the field via surface flow. These data will be used in conjunction with data from other sites involved in the ONFARM program to determine BMP effectiveness.
